Sorry I cannot participate in McHappy Day tomorrow (May 2nd)...home sick and will be spending the day in bed. Oh well...hopefully it will be a very successful event. Treat yourself tomorrow.

Here I go again!  Wednesday May 2nd, I will be volunteering as a special guest for McHappy Day. You will find me at the McDonald's, corner of Carling and Maitland. This is the home of my little brother Paul's first place of employment. He still has his uniform - green pants - nice!

This McDonald's has recently been renovated and I hear they have the double drive-thru. Yikes! I was overwhelmed last year with the single. I'm thinking Will Ouellette (Manager) won't put me there this year... I like to chat too much (as some of you already know). I was good at 'fries', after my initial dropping, spilling, over filling incidents. However, I excelled at 'McFlurrying', if I do say so myself.

On this special day, funds raised helps support our local Ronald McDonald Charities. So...treat yourself and you'll be helping our community at the same time.

A big thank you to John Coughlan (Proprietor) of The Clock Tower Brew Pub (Bank Street at Isabella).

A spur of the moment location change resulted in my client and I arriving at The Clock Tower half an hour prior to their opening.  John was kind enough to allow us in early so we could meet.  Staff was friendly, helpful and very kind considering we were there during their opening/set up time. They quickly started a pot of coffee so we could order and enjoy a delicious cup.

The Clock Tower has 4 locations, check them out. Thanks again John.

You won't want to miss this 'hot' fundraiser next year. It was for a fabulous cause; The Hospice at May Court, AND it was a blast....literally, featuring Barry & the Blasters, Ottawa R&B band.

Additional heat was generated by the Manotick Volunteer Firefighters, who were selling their 2012 calendar during the event. They were also selling tickets to a draw for a chance to win a dinner for 10, prepared and served by the calendar firefighters. One lucky lady is now getting ready for a very fun and delicious dinner.

In addition, The Hospice at May Court has partnered with the Manotick Volunteer Firefighters to raise, much needed, additional funds. Not only will a group of The Manotick Volunteer Firefighters be at this show, they have also published a 2012 calendar which they will be selling for just $20 at this event, with a portion of the proceeds going to The Hospice at May Court. But that's not all.  Buy a calendar at the event and receive a draw ticket for a chance to win a dinner for 10, prepared and served by the calendar firefighters. In addition, for every donation of $5 to The Hospice that evening, another draw tickets and another chance to win.
